Poll on LinkedIn Benefits

I've posted a poll on LinkedIn to find out how people in my network are benefiting from using LinkedIn (if at all). Click here if you would like to participate. If I get back any interesting results, I'll post the results on this blog.

Steve, good topic. I've been "down" on LinkedIn for awhile now, and this is after I spearheaded firm wide training on it for my previous firm. The problem with LinkedIn is its lack of connectivity and sharing of ideas, etc. It's really just a big ol' MS Outlook in the sky, if you ask me. Blogging, Twitter and Facebook are far more beneficial for me. Looking forward to the survey results.

I think the jury is still out on LinkedIn. While it seems to lack the immediacy of Twitter, Blogging and Facebook, I've begun to find it occasionally useful. I do learn things about my contacts that I might not otherwise have learned; and like on Twitter, I am sometimes lead to content that I might not otherwise have found. It is also interesting to see who is connected to whom. But you are right that the other tools seem more vibrant at the moment.
